Who loves barre classes?!

When I heard that we had a new at-home barre program coming out, I was a little skeptical, to be honest. I mean, Barre Blend sounded fun, but is it really going to be a good workout?… Would I even break a sweat?!
Well, I had the chance to join in on a live workout and can I just say — HOLY SWEAT + BURN!
This isn’t your typical barre class — not at all

Alright, let’s take a look at what Barre Blend is all about…
And FYI — if you’re questioning trying a ballet-inspired program because you’re not a dancer (or just totally uncoordinated), don’t worry, there’s no complicated choreography! I promise you won’t be tripping over your own feet. Lol!
What else do you need to know about Barre Blend?
What is Barre Blend?
Barre Blend is our very first ballet-inspired workout. It’s like your own personal at-home barre class (but WAY more affordable than any barre studio!) But it’s got its own little twist…
But before we talk about that, let me clear something up — you DO NOT need to invest in a ballet barre for these workouts or worrying about where you would keep one in your house! All you need is a chair, a counter, the back of a couch, really any sturdy object will do.
Alright, let’s get into it…
The Barre Blend workouts are 100% low-impact. Each workout will “blend” traditional barre ballet-inspired movements with light weight training, pilates, resistance, and cardio intervals for an intense full-body workout!
Here’s a little bit of what you can expect to see:
- Short-range movements
- Long isometric holds
- High rep-counts
- Compound exercises
- And cardio intervals
Each workout is unique — 40 new unique workouts, so you’ll never repeat the same one!
And it’s designed for ALL fitness levels!
There are actually 3 modifications you can follow depending on your fitness level: the modifier version (beginner), mid-level (intermediate), and intensifier (advanced) — check out the images below to see what I mean. Start by giving the mid-level version a try, and then move up or down depending on how you’re feeling!
The Barre blend workouts are short AND you get two days off each week! Super convenient for anyone no matter what your schedule is.
- 30-40 minutes/day
- 5 days/week
- 60 days long
Barre Blend Equipment
Here’s something I love about this program: you don’t need much equipment to make it though. Most programs at least require a few sets of weights, but this one is a little different as it only requires a set of LIGHT weights – 3 to 5 pounds is plenty, trust me!
Required: light weights (3-5lbs), a sturdy chair or something to lean on
Recommended: resistance loops, yoga mat
Optional: a pair of Beachbody barre socks
See! No heavy weights to invest in. I’m sure you’ve already got a chair in your house or something you can use. And if you’ve done any other Beachbody programs before, you may already have the resistance loops! (If not, let me know and I can direct you to the right ones!)

For your Bare Blend Nutrition Plan you have the option to use either of our 2 amazing nutritional programs: Ultimate Portion Fix, 2B Mindset. Or you can follow the Beachbody Nutrition Guide which comes with your program materials! You choose which works best for you — and if you’re not certain, I’m always here to help you figure it out!
Who the trainer?
Elise Joan is the creator of Barre Blend, you might recognize her from the 3 Week Yoga Retreat & some of our other yoga classes! She’s an inspirational mind & body professional and former professional dancer.
I had the chance to meet her and she was so sweet and so full of positivity (and, not to mention, a wonderful instructor!)

Prenatal and Postnatal Barre Workouts
As a mama of 3 girls who loved using Beachbody programs as my tools — before, during and after — I WISH I had this program during that season of my life! Barre is one of my absolute favorites as it is low-impact yet high-intensity, the trainer is so uplifting and it’s so fun, too! So, although I haven’t used these workouts myself, I can confidently recommend them to any mama or mama-to-be out there!
What can you expect from these pre- and post-natal home barre workouts?
There is a different set of workouts for each trimester as well as workouts for post-pregnancy!
